How it works

From your ideal customer
to a reason to speak.

Growth Assist learns your business, what you sell and what makes a good customer. We then identify the evidence that could indicate a buying opportunity, research your market and deliver prioritised sales opportunities with a clear “why now”.

Evidence first. AI second. Sales intelligence third.

01 — Learn

We start with your business, not a database.

Before we look for opportunities, we need to understand what a good opportunity actually looks like.

The objective is to understand what makes a company commercially relevant to your sales team.

We learn your

  • Products and services
  • Ideal Customer Profile
  • Existing customers
  • Target sectors
  • Geography
  • Typical deal value
  • Sales cycle
  • Buying process
  • Previous successful opportunities

02 — Define

Define your ideal customer.

We translate that knowledge into a clear target profile.

This creates the foundation for identifying companies that genuinely fit.

Depending on the client, this could include

  • Industry
  • Company size
  • Turnover
  • Locations
  • Property characteristics
  • Employee numbers
  • Technologies
  • Growth profile
  • Existing relationships
  • Previous sales activity

03 — Identify

What would create a reason to speak?

Finding a company that fits your ICP is only the first step.

The more important question is: “Why should your salesperson speak to them now?”

We work with the client to identify the events, changes and evidence that could indicate a potential buying window. The relevant triggers and evidence are different for every client.

Examples can include

  • Office moves
  • New sites
  • Planning applications
  • Building or property changes
  • Recruitment growth
  • Senior leadership appointments
  • Acquisitions
  • Business expansion
  • Lease events
  • Contract renewal indicators
  • Historic proposals
  • Previous sales conversations
  • CRM notes
  • Cross-sell opportunities

04 — Connect

Bring the evidence together.

The strongest sales opportunities rarely come from one dataset.

Growth Assist can combine relevant internal and external information to build a clearer picture of each target company.

External sources can include

  • Company information
  • Property information
  • Planning data
  • Recruitment activity
  • Company websites
  • Public announcements
  • Leadership changes
  • Relevant commercial datasets

Internal sources can include

  • CRM records
  • Previous proposals
  • Sales notes
  • Historic opportunities
  • Customer records
  • Previous sales conversations
  • Legacy email information where available

The exact data sources are selected around the client’s ICP, sales process and agreed opportunity triggers. Not every source is available or used for every client.

05 — Research

Turn data into intelligence.

Data tells us what has happened. Research helps us understand whether it matters.

Growth Assist researches potential opportunities against the client’s ICP and agreed buying triggers, bringing together the relevant information into a single view.

The objective

The objective is not to produce more data. It is to determine whether there is a credible reason for the sales team to act.

06 — Validate

Evidence and inference are not the same thing.

Verifiable evidence

Information that can be supported by an identifiable source.

  • Planning application approved
  • New location announced
  • Operations Director appointed
  • Recruitment activity increased
  • Previous proposal identified in CRM

AI / research inference

A conclusion or hypothesis based on available evidence.

  • Expansion may create a requirement for additional services.
  • Historic contract timing suggests a possible renewal window.
  • Multiple changes suggest this account may deserve attention.

Growth Assist should never present an inference as a verified fact.

AI helps us research, process and connect information at scale, but the supporting evidence remains visible to the salesperson.

Evidence first. AI second. Sales intelligence third.

07 — Prioritise

Not every opportunity deserves the same attention.

Potential opportunities are prioritised using a combination of fit, evidence and timing.

Fit

How closely the company matches the agreed ICP.

Evidence

How strong the supporting evidence is.

Timing

Whether there is a credible reason to speak now.

Fit+Evidence+Timing=Priority

The exact scoring model can be adjusted around the client’s sales strategy and feedback. A priority score reflects fit, evidence and timing — it is not a prediction that a company will buy.

08 — Deliver

Give salespeople something they can act on.

The final output is not another list of companies.

Each prioritised opportunity should help the salesperson understand:

Who
Which company should I target?
Why them
Why do they fit our ICP?
Why now
What has changed or been identified?
Evidence
What supports the opportunity?
Who to speak to
Which person or role is relevant?
Next action
What should I do with this information?

Company

Alderwick Components Group

Precision components · 140 employees · fictional example

Why this company matters
Multi-site manufacturer in the size band where this provider's win rate is strongest, currently running IT support in-house with a single technical hire.
What changed
  • Second facility taken on a long lease earlier in the year
  • New Operations Director appointed from a larger group
  • Four maintenance and production roles advertised in six weeks
  • Asset finance facility registered against new plant
Why now
Expansion plus a new operational leader usually creates a review of support arrangements within two quarters. The window is open now rather than at renewal.
Who to contact
Sarah Mitchell, Operations Director — owns site readiness and supplier arrangements during expansion (fictional stakeholder).
Recommended action
Begin a conversation with the Operations Director about supporting the second site before it goes live.
Confidence
High — four independent signals, each traceable to a primary source.

The feedback loop

The intelligence gets better as your sales team uses it.

Sales feedback helps refine what a good opportunity looks like.

  • Which opportunities were useful?
  • Which triggers created conversations?
  • Which evidence mattered?
  • Which opportunities were rejected?

That feedback can be used to refine the ICP, scoring, research and prioritisation over time.
